Home Work for the British Government

Letter to the Editor The Tribune, sent on July 18, 2005, by K.N. Pandita – Sir, This is with reference to ‘Synonym for terrorism etc.’(The Tribune 16 July). Pakistani connection of 7/7 London bombers has re-confirmed the view of many observers, particularly those in Europe and the US, that Pakistan is the breeding ground of interntional terrorism. The wanton destruction of hundreds of innocent but precious human lives in different parts of Asia, Europe and the US at the hands of the Pakistani-seminaries – bred theo-fascists should be an eye opener for the British policy planners to witness the terrible consequences of overtly and covertly supporting and promoting the creation of a state on the basis of religion. The British police, intelligence agencies, and the home and foreign office know fully the traditional anti-India hate campaign unleashed by a majority of over a million London-based Pakisanis through the conduit of their mosques for last fifty years. Yet the British government never thought it an imperative of good governance to put a check on this calumny and let it grow into the monster of theo-fascism, first against India and now against the US and the European nations — Spain, UK, Russia etc. London even showed great reluctance to the extradition of terrorists against whom India provided irrefutable evidence. The British government should try to do some serious homework besides sending its investigating police parties to the Paksitani seminaries like Jamia’ Manzooru’l Islamia in Lahore and the headquarters of Tableeghi Jamaat at Raiwind.
